#3- Fashion Trend from New York Street

Poppin with Colors

The Oscars were the Super Bowl of movie star fashion in Los Angeles last Sunday while now here on the street of New York City, fashion trends are all about colors!
From Bloomindales’ Neon window display to Chunky knits, cashmeres, color-blocked sweaters, wraps, fur-trimmed outerwear, printed tops, dresses and coated and colored denim were all connected to colors!  Let’s poppin with colors and say hello to the spring of 2012!
I shot these pictures in front of Metropolitan Museum. This little red bonnet and the color block high heels are really cool to me.
The left girl is a student from Fashion Institute of technology. Her peach-puff-pink bag, tangerine scarf and the bunny-ear iPhone case are really great match.
I took the right picture on 26th street, this lady’s red lace skirt makes her look elegant.

Lincoln Center is always a fashion spot in New York City. I shot several cool photos there as well. The red hand bag is totally the high light of the whole outfit. In the background, the girl in scarlet coat and the girl in rhapsody lavender pants are also look great.

Using bright colors against a muted background color like gray makes the colors pop even more. This couple in Lincoln Ceter made the voilet hand bag look so dazzling.  Movie stars also went for bold colors, especially red, led by Emma Stone wearing Giambattista Valli, Natalie Portman in Dior and Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton, while Viola Davis opted for emerald green Vera Wang.  Green is also a big deal on the street of New York City.

The neon bags by Cambridge Satcher Company are hot items in the colorful street trend.

Also, colorful animal prints are interesting to see.(on 26th street)

These young people combine a bright, multi-colored pant with lime green hat, blue hair and other bright accents to create a very fun and artistic look.
(Metropolitan Museum)
Mixing multiple bright colors can be tricky but purple and yellow are executed well.

Coloful scarf can have a huge visual impact when it sets against a neutral background.
The black and white coat is also unique-designed.

This is a colorful season in the New York City just like this multi-colored scholar bag.
Let's poppin with colors!

#2- One Key Item for Fall 2012

Structured Bell Skirt
I saw the signs of structured bell skirt being a key item in Fall 2012 from fashion shows, look books online, window displays and on the street!
I took this photo shoot on the Fifth Avenue. It is a  window display of Louis Vuitton.
Marc Jacobs revives english embroidery for Louis Vuitton
Jacobs has revived the 19th-century technique of “broderie anglaise” , or “English embroidery,” bringing it into the 21st by stopping at a couple of decades along the way. The structured, bell-shaped skirts bring to mind the Fifties, while the laser cutwork has the joie de vivre of the Flower Power patterns of the Sixties.

Thigh length, bell-shaped skirts add an overstated swing to the hips, given extra wow factor via structural embellishments. Inverted pleats are keys, creating a graphic, round silhouette with stiff fabrics and allowing for deep side pockets.

Overskirt-like ruffles at the waist add a further flourish, while a high-waisted leather belt extends the exaggerated hourglass silhouette, which can be emphasized with long sweaters or a bright, fringed scarf.

Zac Posen Pre-Fall 2012

Posen showed a bit of a flirty side to his looks but a structured short bell skirt took a textured grey dress from what could have been lifeless and sombre to a place where well mannered frolicking is expected and cake-eating is a daily pasttime because there are no cares in the world (not even about your waistline).

Chanel
Karl Lagerfeld has delivered another beautiful collection that is full of glittering jewels and pops of hot pink. I also find structured bell skirts in this collection which is shinning with the mysterious Indian style!

Oscar de la Renta's Pre-Fall 2012 shows Joan of Arc with its fine tailoring and structured bell skirt silhouettes.

Also, this video is going to give some more ideas about the Skirt Lengths in Flux!
Check it out! Bill Cunningham is on the street of New York City!
